Theme customization settings disappear after loading

  • Hi all.

    I’m having some difficulties in my appearance tab.

    The situation:
    I can access the Appearance tab no problem, and I can access the Customize tab no problem. The issue is, when I click Customize, half of the options that are normally present (such as changing theme colours, menu padding, etc.) appear for about two seconds, then disappear shortly after the page loads, leaving me with only

    Site Identity
    Menus
    Widgets
    Homepage Settings
    Custom CSS

    (with literally NONE of the other functions to actually change appearance — which, as noted, are visible for about two seconds but as soon as the page loads fully, they disappear).

    Things I have done so far:

    – Updated WordPress and all plugins
    – Disabled plugins and still encountered the problem
    – Fixed all error messages with plugins
    – Tried different Internet browsers
    – Cleared my cache

    Could you try switching to any of the default twenty* themes (Twenty twenty, etc.) and see if that fixes it?

    what did you find when you switch to the default theme? Did the options come up and disappear as it did with your initial theme?

    Could you check if your host has any server caching active and have the server cache cleared if any?

    Also, check your browser console when you’re on the screen you’re experiencing the issue and let me know if it shows any errors?

    Finally, go to tools – site health – info (tab) and copy-paste the info there in pastebin.com and share the URL here. It should give some insight that’ll help troubleshoot the issue. Cheers!
