Theme compatibility, why so hard?

    This must be by far the best and most feature rich plugin for a wordpress directory solution but, I expected to install the plugin and being able to use it on a site. Using Newspaper theme from tagdiv and it’s not displaying correctly. Also wanted to use it for the newsmag theme now have to settle for lesser plugins as the latter is a lot of work making it compatible.

    Don’t think I want to leave a negative review of my experience so posting a support or then feature request ?? ( afritree . com has it on, not home page but under directory just remove spaces from URL to go view)

    Hi,

    our plugin, like woocommerce, bbpress or buddypress uses it’s own internal templating system.

    If the theme is compatible out of the box with our templating system, like Avada, Enfold, X, Divi, Kleo, Genesis and many others in addition to our own themes, you’ll be ready to go right after activating the plugin.

    However it is impossible to develop a templating system that adapts to every possible theme out there.

    In any case I’ve sent you directions to adapt GD to that theme’s template via email and you will see that it is not that difficult at all.

    thank you, top notch support!
    I hope tagDiv Newspaper and Newsmag themes will go on your list as a lot of people on the forums asking for compatibility there as well and we build 5 sites a week with their themes.

    Hi Paolo,

    I’m also experiencing problems with the tagDiv Newspaper theme. When I set GD as Home Page the Google Map on top shows, but not when I use GD on a non-Homepage. I suspect it might have to do with multiple Google Map calls (there’s one in the sidebar as well as one ‘flying in’ from the right when scrolling down, I’d like to disable the fly-in one, but haven’t found out how).

    I am using the same theme as tripledm and am having difficulty with it showing properly. I have tried using the theme presets within the plugin but none of them are working properly.

    Paolo, can you please provide the same instructions you gave to tripledm?
