THEME CHANGER AND THEMES DISAPEARED

My themes under Appearance have vanished in my admin-
i tried deleteing some from the server side and reuploading them but this did not change anything- they worked fine prior- i have many installed, can see them on the server in the correct folder config-
not sure how to resolve-
