• I’m using the latest version of WordPress and I have a theme that was developed for a much older version. Everything works except the link popup in the visual editor. The media popup and all the other tools work just fine. I uninstalled every plugin and I was still having the issue. So I changed themes and that fixed it. Unfortunately I can’t just change the theme because my developer wrote a bunch of the site’s features into the theme instead of making plugins. I’m not a developer, but I can read a little php and I’ve tried to remove some of the functions for the functions.php file to see if I can get it to work, but I haven’t figured it out. Anyone have any ideas?

  • You’re pretty stuck with hiring someone unfortunately. It sounds like much of what is needed is debugging and rewrites (theme specific -> plugin) and you can’t do that reliably without some experience.

If you want to tackle it though, we’d be happy to help you in the process, but please make a complete backup first in case something goes wrong.
