Theme breaking images

What would cause the theme to break the images for a table?
I have a cross image: <img src=”https://myurl.com/cross.png”>
When I see it in the preview it is fine. When I see it in a default WP theme 20/13 it is fine. However on some themes I have, the urls cause there to be a new row and every img is basically a new line.
