Theme Breadcrumbs vs Yoast Breadcrumbs

    Hello

    We have been using yoast for more than 3 years now and very happy with it. Recently we have discovered that(very unfortunate) breadcrumbs are not enabled but breadcrumbs setting is enabled in the theme.

    We chose primary and secondary categories for posts but the theme breadcrumbs and category order is listed alphabetically over the post. Please see the image here breadcrumbs

    So when we check some posts with site:xxx most posts showing the secondary category belongs to the post.

    If we enable breadcrumbs now,
    1 -do you think the order of breadcrumbs will be showing according to the yoast’s primary and secondary options?
    2- Will this affect our SEO adversaly for the existing posts?

    We understand the theme is showing breadcrumbs in an order you do not want. We understand you want to enable the Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs to help resolve this issue.

    You identified several issues related to this. We have responded to them below.

    1.do you think the order of breadcrumbs will be showing according to the yoast’s primary and secondary options?
    Yes, you can expect Yoast to show the breadcrumbs in the right pathway.

    2. Will this affect our SEO adversaly for the existing posts?
    As we are not familiar with your site or set-up or SEO strategy we are not able to say. We only know that Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs outputs a rich snippet in Google and may help improve the traffic.

    3. Implement Yoast Breadcrumbs
    Note, that you may need to add special code into your theme to add the Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs. This guide explains more: https://kb.yoast.com/article/245-implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs.

    Also, depending on how your theme is set-up you may need to disable the theme’s breadcrumbs. Your theme developer can help with this.

    Unfortunately, there’s a difference between the support we can offer and the level of programming needed to change (core) features of our plugin.
