Theme Bazaar: problem with the Portfolio

  • Hi!
    I just purchased Bazaar (the premium version) and I’m building the site graphiclagoon.com.

    I’m very happy with the theme and I want to build a cool Portfolio just as yours found under Portfolio > Block Masonry Layout:

    I’ve added a few items, such as Graphic Design, Websites and Photography, under Portfolio in my WP sidebar. But how do I do to display the Portfolio on my website? I’ve been trying to insert the shortcode [portfolio] on a page, but it doesnt want to display.
    Should I use a different shortcode or is it any other way to do it?
    I want it to look like yours, with the Block Masonry Layout.

    I got this reply:

    Hi

    you need to create a main project taxonomy, for example you can call this taxonomy “Works”,
    set this project taxonomy for each portfolio item, like a blog post category,
    add this “Works” taxonomy on your custom menu

    I followed the instructions and it worked well!

    I do however have two more questions.

    Is it possible to have the Block layout, but with the Nivo Slider?
    I think the Block Layout is cooler and nicer. It looks good an a computer, but on a cellphone it’s hard to hover over the pictures to se the titels. You actually have to click on the picture to see the title.

    It would be really nice to have the Block Layout and the Nivo Slider together.

    I want the picture to be on one slide, and then let the turqoise background with the white title be on the next slider. So it slides between the two.
    (Then it would be easier to see the title on a cellphone).

    Another question:
    I want to have a button on the menu called HOME. But how do I link the button to the homepage graphiclagoon.com.
    I dont want to set a static home page, I want the home page to look like it does with the slider and posts. But I want to be able to create a Home button that links to the Home page.

    1) Unfortunately this feature is not available on Bazaar and Bazaar Lite
    2) You can add a custom links menu item called Home using https://graphiclagoon.com/ as URL

    Regarding the second question. I already went to the page called Home and added the URL https://graphiclagoon.com/ but the page keep changing it back to https://graphiclagoon.com/home.

    Is here any other way I cold do it?
    For the home page: is it possible to add text blocks before the posts appears?

    Under the slider I would like to have a text block that is full width and has a quote in it.

    I want to be able to scroll down on the homepage and add full width blocks in different colors with text. So it’s more like a one-site webpage. How do I do that?

    1) Could you please create a new ticket on ThemeinProgress.com, adding the credential of your WordPress installation, to check the configuration of Bazaar?
    2) You can create a new child theme of Bazaar with a new sidebar area after the slideshow.
