• I had to redesign a website for a friend and decided to give WordPress a shot (never used WordPress before). I bought the Avada theme and created the site https://www.lezena.com. The site looks great but when looking at the source code I found out that there’s A LOT of javascript and css. The text to code ratio is very bad and I’m sure it would affect SEO. To give you an idea the index file is over 200KB!

    1. Is this normal when using WordPress along with big theme like Avada? I know I could disable some settings in Avada but still…

    2. How can I move some of the css and js into separate files?

    3. Do you guys use big themes like Avada or do you create your own and only install/activate some plugins like Revolution Slider, Contact Form 7?

    Anyone?

Any thought would be greatly appreciated!

We’re having the same problem with Avada. A client installed it on her own — we normally build our own, but in this case a DIY user reached out. We have the site just the way they want it, but it is too large to upload via FTP.

I have no solution. We feel like we’ve tried everything. Did you ever find a solution?
