• Hi,

    My functions.php looks blank, although I don’t believe it is.

    On the bottom of my website where it is listed page 1 of … there is a 4 listed, so it appears as Page 1 of 41234.

    I have looked everywhere, but can only think that it is listed in the functions.php which I can’t edit as there doesn’t appear to be code.

    I also want to change the image that is appearing on Facebook posts and include the featured image on the post page and apprently this is where you put the code.

    Can someone help? I have tried contacting the delevoper on his forum, but no response.

    thanks

  • OK, editing functions.php is probably overkill.

    For the 41234 problem, you just need to add some spacing between “Page 1 of 4” and the page selectors, “1234”. You can do it by adding this rule to your custom CSS:

    .pagination span:nth-child(1) {
    margin-right: 20px;
    }

    You adjust the amount (20px) based upon how much spacing you want.

    I also want to change the image that is appearing on Facebook posts and include the featured image on the post page and apprently this is where you put the code.

    I tried pasting the link to one of your blog posts into FB, and it looks like it picked up the featured image in the preview. Was there a different image? I didn’t see any on the two posts that I looked at.

    Thanks for the pagination code – worked well.

    Something weird has happened the my facbook account. I have created an app and all was working well, apart from everytime a story was published to my FB account it used the logo instead of the featured image.

    Now the plugin doesn’t seem to be working at all. None of the buttons are appearing on the pages and posts are posting on FB. Under the Social Publisher Settings it says Add a Facebook account to your WordPress account, when I click on it, it takes me to the settings page which says Facebook Account > Get started and no update option. Im not sure what to do.

    OK, on the posts which seem to be bringing in the featured image, I see the og:image meta tag in the head section, which is what Facebook is looking for when it tries to determine which picture to use. And it is absent in those posts which do not bring in the correct image. For example, the Dukkah Dukkah Hummus page doesn’t bring in the featured image because it’s missing the og:image meta tag.

    You mentioned a plugin not working. Did you install a plugin that’s supposed to support the featured image being imported into Facebook? Or is that supposed to be a feature of the Admired theme? If it’s supposed to be a feature of Admired, you may want to post a question on their support forum (scroll down to the bottom of that page to enter your question). If it’s a plugin that’s supposed to provide that feature, then try posting on the plugin’s support page.

    Thanks again for your reply. The Facebook plugin wasn’t working, but is now, though I still seem to be getting an error message on all posts saying the ‘Following is not enabled’ but in the option tab it is.

    Silly questions, but where do I add the og:image?

    You shouldn’t have to add it, either your theme or the Facebook plugin you are using should add it to the head section of the post page when you have designated a featured image. Which Facebook plugin are you using? Or are you using the Sharing option that comes with JetPack?

    Thank you SO much! I really appreciate your help.

    I’m using the Facebook plugin. I’ve just tested and the image is pasting to Facebook, but its pasting the wrong image. Its pasting another image that is in the gallery.

    Also, I am getting an ‘error’ where the follow me should be.

    On the backend I’m getting two lots of error messages, under my profile:
    Warning: Invalid CRT parameters detected in D:\Hosting\10935276\html\wp-content\plugins\facebook\admin\profile.php on line 113
    Warning: Invalid CRT parameters detected in D:\Hosting\10935276\html\wp-content\plugins\facebook\admin\profile.php on line 113

    Warning: Invalid CRT parameters detected in D:\Hosting\10935276\html\wp-content\plugins\facebook\admin\profile.php on line 113

    and under Facebook debugger:
    Publish permissions explanation: Not set. Consider using: “Publish new posts to your Facebook Timeline or Page.”

    Unfortunately, diagnosing something like that is way beyond my ability. You should copy those messages in a post on the Facebook plugin support page (scroll down to the bottom of that page to enter your question). Their developers could answer your Facebook-related questions much better than I can. Don’t forget to include a link to your site like you did in your original message.
