Theme/ Admin conflict

I am creating a custom theme… after editing the theme files I have issues with blank pages and redirects in the wp-admin area being blank. At times the entire wp-admin area is blank. To make it useable I remove themes and try again. That temporarily resolves the issues. I have deleted and deactivated all plug-ins. It seems theme specific. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions?
