the_excerpt converting some character “x”?

  • Using the the_excerpt();

    I found that it may convert some characters “x” into symbol “×”
    Not all but occasionally noticed.

    “csxigz” remains unchanged
    while
    gje1x0ip will be displayed as gje1×0ip
    (The data inside sql db is not changed)

    I changed the theme back to classic and default but still seeing the automatic conversion. It’s been tested on both localhost and server.

    Is the function recognizing some pattern that is not allowed and did the conversion? What can I do to avoid this?
