Hi, I am using the YITH WooCommerce Wishlist plugin on my new website that I am developing with EnvatoMarket’s LMS WordPress Theme (https://themeforest.net/item/lms-learning-management-system-education-lms-wordpress- theme / 7867581? _ga = 2.104763974.733818429.1587111876-542463272.1586937657).
When I purchased the theme the plugin was already installed and active and, up to two days ago, it worked correctly.
Now, inexplicably, it no longer works: when I add a product in the list the message says that it has been added correctly (https://prnt.sc/s11vl8) but the list always remains empty (https://prnt.sc/s11wjh) .
Until yesterday evening it didn’t work only for users logged in to the website while from this morning it doesn’t work even for Guest users anymore.
Honestly I can’t give me an explanation because I haven’t made any changes that could affect the plugin,
    Can you help me understand?
    Thank you!
    Best regards, Alessandra.

    Ciao Alessandra

I’d like to answer you in italian, but I think that an english answer would be more useful for forum’s users ??

The error that you described seems related to a cache system
Please, make sure to exclude wishlist page (wishlist/*) from any cache system you may have active on your site, and, if possible, to exclude any cache when wishlist cookie (yith_wcwl_session_*) is set

If you’re not using any cache plugin on your site, you may still have server cache, in which case you should contact your hosting provider, asking for the esclusions that I suggested

Hi, I have disabled all the cache systems both on the website and on the server side but the plugin continues to not work while, I repeat, until 2 days ago it worked perfectly.
It also has a very strange behavior: sometimes, apparently randomly and only for guest users, it displays the list correctly and then a minute later, without having made any changes, it starts not working even on guest users.
Can you help me? It seems to me that this is the only Woocommerce wishlist plugin that manages lists also on Custom Post Types and therefore I have to use it by force because I have no alternatives.
    Thank you

As I said, this seems like a cache problem; I cannot think of any other possible reason that would cause such an issue

Anyway, if you share with me an url to your site, I’ll give plugin a test and let you know my conclusions

OK. Where can I send you credentials privately?

Sorry, I’m waiting for your answer. Thank you

    Hi

Please, try not to bump your request, since it is discouraged by forum regulations.

Where can I send you credentials privately?

You shouldn’t send us your credentials; this is explicitly prohibited in this forum

Just share on this topic url to your installation, if it is public, and I’ll be glad to check

    (@filippettia)

    OK, thank you.

The only doubt I have is related to how you can verify any cache problems by accessing my site as a simple user. In this way you cannot see if any cashing mechanisms are active.
However, I await the outcome of your verification.
The URL of my Web Site is https://agileplaza.it/nuovo.

    Thanks in advance, Alessandra.

I can see page response headers, that usually are a good indicator of any cache system working on your page
In this case I cannot find any reference to a cache system

Anyway, I can see that you’re running version 3.0.9
When you said that you are using Wishlist to store posts different from products, I supposed you were running an older version of the plugin (2.x) since this isn’t any longer possible with latest version

    Thread Starter filippettia

    (@filippettia)

    Thanks for your answer.
Yes, the plugin version is 3.0.9.
Do you mean that with this version in theory it would no longer be possible to insert a Custom Post Type or something different from a Woocommerce Product into Wishlist?
Yet, as you can see from the following screens, it allows me to recall the wishlist (even with the Custom Post Types) and until a few days ago the list view also worked perfectly.
Furthermore, even today, the content of the list is sometimes displayed in an apparently random way and only for guest users.
    See the following screens: https://prnt.sc/s3cyn0, https://prnt.sc/s3czq9, https://prnt.sc/s3d0wv.
    Question for you:
    (1) Could I use an old version of the plugin?
    (2) can you suggest other plugins that can manage a Wishlist for Custom Post Types?
    Thank you.
    Greetings, Alessandra.

    Hi,

I take this opportunity to send you the screenshots of this morning in which, inexplicably, the Wishlist is displayed: it is always the 3.0.9 version of the Plugin and always the Custom Post Type (NOT Woocommerce Products) added to the list:

    https://prnt.sc/s3q849,
    https://prnt.sc/s3qavn.

    Thank you

    Hi again Alessandra

As I said, since version 3.x wishlist requires that posts added to wishlist are products
Yesterday I performed some checks to be sure that this is the case, and actually I can see it would be pretty complex to drop tihs requirements

I don’t know why you can sometimes see items other than products in the wishlist, but if I should guess, I’d say one of these two
    a. plugin is customized to work in your use case scenario
    b. you recently updated plugin, and guest users now and then still see cached version of the page with items

For the moment I suggest you to use older version of the plugin (2.2.17), that you can retrieve from here
While there is no plan to officially support post types other than products in the wishlist, I’ll try to make it easier for developers to work in this scenario

    Thread Starter filippettia

    (@filippettia)

Perfect, I will try with the version you suggest me.
    Thank you very much!
    Greetings, Alessandra.

Before we close this thread, could I ask you something?
We are doing our best to improve our plugins. Our target is to develop and release the best free plugins for WooCommerce, but to achieve this we need your help. Please leave a good review to support us and help our growth ??

    (@filippettia)

Hi and thanks again but, unfortunately, not even version 2.2.17 works (at least for me). With this version I can actually insert the Custom Post Types in the list but sometimes I get the message that a product is already present in the list even if in reality the product is different.

I’m afraid I’ll have to give up the Wishlist or look for another plugin that can manage the Custom Post Types.

However, you are very kind and competent and therefore my review will certainly be positive!

A suggestion? Re-introduce Custo Post Type management! ??

    > A suggestion? Re-introduce Custom Post Type management!
I will do my best to make it easier for anyone to use our plugin for this case, even if it is a little beyond its scope

If I have any news, I’ll let you know ??
