• The number of steps required to create a single article has increased significantly compared to ClassicEditor.
For example, unless you maintain a certain screen width, the sidebar will be forced to close when you add a block.
The user will have to bring back the sidebar every time.
I don’t understand why they are trying to increase the number of steps required to work.

  • @moyo55 Thanks for sharing this specific feedback. I’ve added it to this currently open issue about the same phenomenon:

    https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/23968

This is done ultimately to preserve what the content will look like since the editor is meant to be a visual one that shows you live what your content will ultimately appear to look like on the front end of your site. With that said, you are able to keep one open at all times. As a result, you might find using the slash inserter (typing / followed by the block you want) easier to use if you need to keep the block settings sidebar open for some reason. Here’s a video to share what I mean:

Hope this helps and thanks again for sharing!

I’ve never had ANY problems AT ALL to make the classic editor content look like the frontend. Some lines of CSS in the editor-style.css, that’s it. So, what exactly would Gutenberg contribute here?

Your case is an calssic example why Gutenberg is very bad It just makes everything waaaaay more difficult and more time consuming. No matter what WordPress people say on this forum. They act suprised everytime but they ar not listining to their customers. And the message is very simple: throw away Gutenberg.
