    Hi,

I’ve already read multiple threads about the warning after last update:
WordPress 301 redirect enabled. We recommend to enable the .htaccess redirect option on your specific setup.

To enable that setting you might have to make changes to the htaccess file as well. There are lots of users that don’t have access to that. But instead of the htaccess redirect you can also use the default/native WP redirect. So IMO this htaccess redirect is not a very important/major setting.

If you’re planning an update anytime soon, you might want to consider removing that warning, or make ik less “important” (remove the “1” for example).

    Guido

    Hi Guido,

This setting will automatically write the .htaccess redirect to your .htaccess file. But if you’re not comfortable enabling it, you can dismiss it by clicking the “X” in the notice, at the right. This will clear the notice.

We added this warning because we always get a lot of questions about the .htaccess redirect, if it is an option in the settings, or when there’s caching, why the redirect is not working. The aim is to point users in the direction of the .htaccess redirect, as it will also work when the site is cached, and is faster than the wp redirect.

    Hi Rogier,

Although users are wondering why there’s a warning suddenly, I now understand why you’ve did this.

You can leave the wordpress redirect enabled as well.
