The visual editor suddenly stopped working

  • I was working on my blog this evening, and everything was cool. Suddenly, the visual editor quit – went blank after a save. The code is still visible in HTML view. When I click back to visual from HTML, the source code is still what shows. There are no toolbars at the top of the visual editor either.

    I thought this might be something about the particular post, but I’m seeing the same behavior on every post I edit. I thought it might be something about Chrome, which I usually use to update the blog, but it’s not working in Opera either.

    This is most puzzling. Ideas, anyone?

    Hmm… it just started working again. Somethin’ ain’t right here….

    I’m still talking to myself here I suppose, but I thought I would post back what seems to have been the cause. I installed mod_pagespeed on the server the other day, and I believe its cache may have been responsible for the difficulty. I placed an .htaccess in /wp-admin with the following code:

    <IfModule pagespeed_module>
ModPagespeed off
</IfModule>

    The visual editor resumed working properly when I did this.
