  • I assume that’s a custom one that they’ve created for wp.com

    I’m pretty happy with Vimeo and Viper’s Video Quicktags. Looks good, easy to embed, and you can customise the player somewhat (also don’t have to worry about encoding stuff and you get extra traffic out of vimeo).

    Additionally they have a Vimeo Plus account which allows you to embed HD quality videos ??

    @alexleonard:
    Thanks for the pointer Alex. Even if it was custom-made for WP, it still should be open-source. They should release it too right? I’m sick of JWPlayer and would like some alternative. Currently I’m using ToobPlayer for playing YouTube videos on my WP blog and love it, though its 67KB (plus SWFObject around 6KB). I’m a sucker for small-size and would just like to have a player that is lighter than ToobPlayer ??

    I am also interested on the player. Matt/anyone at Automatic, is there a possibility this player could be made open source?

    It seem that Automatic has release the framework for it today.
    Hope someone can turn this into a plugin we all can us.

    Thanks for Opensourcing the player, Automatic. Now, as Gozita, I am looking forward for someone to produce a more “workable” end result for the wordpresscom-video-server.

    I’ve been hoping around to other posts about HD wordpress video player on our own servers… this one seems very relevant! It’s been four months since the last post, I see. Has anyone got around to developing it into a plugin for .org users?

    Still very interested on this. See my most recent post on this regard. Anyone?
