The uploaded media folder is shown as a list

Hi,
The upload folder (for instance /wp-content/uploads/2013/07/) in my site is shown as a list and everyone can see all the images that are uploaded.
Beside that my theme uses jquery.colorbox to show images as slides but whenever i click images it shows the image directly not in a pop up window.
