• I created a staging page where I replaced the template, started rebuilding the website.

1 week passed, I did nothing with the site. Today I deleted the staging page, because I thought it would not be needed.

Then I changed my mind, and by saving the UPdraft plus backup, I restored the site to the state it was in before I deleted the staging page.

However, the staging page does not work, I think it is gone. In the staging plugin I can see it shows as if there is a staging site, but on ftp I see nothing, and when I click on the staging site link, it doesn’t show the staging page, it shows as if the page doesn’t exist.

    Hi @rinpocse91
I can’t speak to how the other plugin you mentioned operates, but typically, backup plugins will only back up the site where the plugin is installed. This means that if you were running the backup on your live site, it likely didn’t include the staging site.

Given that the staging site isn’t appearing on FTP and the link is no longer functional, it’s likely that the staging site wasn’t included in the backup. Unfortunately, this means that the staging site has been lost.

I recommend creating a new staging site to continue your work. In the future, to avoid losing progress, you can use the WP STAGING plugin to create backups directly from the staging site and download the backup file to your hard drive, so you won’t lose any progress made there.

    Thanks,
    Alaa
