• Hello, I downloaded your plugin and installed.

    Then I added the players path as html…
    <video> src=”https://example.com/wp-content/uploads/myvideo.mp4″</video&gt;

    But, the video player does not have any speed controls, (just normal controls)

    If I instead add the player as Short-code I do get the controls:
    [video src="https://example.com/wp-content/uploads/myvideo.mp4"]

    However, if I add a poster to the video, the poster hides the video controls, (granted they do appear once the player is activated).

    My question is: How can I add a poster so that the controls still remain visible, even when the player is not active (when it is not playing the video)?

    Please help, Thanks!

    Hi David,

    Sorry for the slow reply. I Seem to have missed this in my emails.

    I’d suggest that if you need a poster, with the controls, using a screenshot tool, or creating a layered template of the overlay with speed controls, that can be used to produce such media.

    The control mechanism works for HTML5 media, however the site owner / content producer would need to create their own control HTML elements, following a style in order for those custom controls to work. Many browser vendors (Edge, Chrome, Firefox) have built-in playback speed controls for native media, which is why I’ve presently chosen not to own the design stylings for every site.

    Best,
    Lewis
