• I needed a way of bringing various social media posts together in a grid for the front page of my band’s website. I looked at various different options, but most seemed to be aimed at business users and the monthly cost was just way too high for me to justify for a non-profit personal site.

Then I found Feed Them Social, and after trying the free plugins and finding them neat and easy to use, decided to pay the $50/yr fee for the combined feeds license.

I’m so glad I did- the plugin is exactly what I was looking for, and pretty easy to set up even for a Woodpress noob like me. I had one problem with finding the correct settings for the YouTube stream, but after I e-mailed for support, Spencer got straight back to me within an hour and sorted out my problem for me.

The only quibble I have is that it seems you can only have a maximum of six videos from YouTube unless you upgrade to Premium, which is a bit frustrating as I’ve already paid for the combined streams license. However I guess there are other ways of embedding videos if I need to add more than six to a page. Overall I’d recommend Feed Them Social over alternatives like Juicer, which are very limited and have intrusive branding, and which charge licence fees which are beyond the means of non-corporate users like me!
