• The Sociable plug-in update crashed my wordpress site.

When I logged into my Word Press site today with https://articleweblinks.com/wp-admin/, and went to plug-in, it showed that Sociable had an available update and had an auto update option. The update loaded but when I tried to go back to the dashboard , the site froze.

Now the site totally inaccessible, both to users and to my admin. In Firefox it just shows bank screen, and in IE shows HTTP 500 Internal server error. Attached is and error log
HOW do I fix this and get my site back online ???????? HELP PLEASE

  • Had the same issue. Was able to FTP into my site and delete the sociable directory from the plugins folder, and the site came back up.

I located a solution in the forum (posted by karbor) and it fixed my problem. I performed the following actions and my site has been restored.
    1. I logged into my HostGator cPanel and went to my website’s root folder (where all your website file stored.
    2. I then located the folder inside it called WP-Content. Inside that folder is a folder called “Plugins”.
    3. I located the “Sociable” plugin’s folder and simply deleted the entire “Sociable” folder. I am now able to log into my site.
