The site was a white screen

The site wasn’t that complicated but was just over 1G so perhaps that was the issue. The migration ended up with a white screen. In the files directory, it looked like all the files were there.

I ended up using the WordPress Tools > export/import, and all the posts, pages and media came in. I am sure if I had installed all the plugins the old site had, the most of the rest would have come in as well. Don’t overlook the simple “non-plugin” options!
