The site is experiencing technical difficulties

  • Hi guys. I’m getting a seemingly random “The site is experiencing technical difficulties” on certain search queries. I’m not sure what has changed to cuase this. I tried deactivating a couple more recent plugins in case there was a conflict, but that didn’t help. I will say: I have not tried deactivating every plugin to test for conflicts. Any idea what might be causing this?

    I’m guessing it might be your server’s way of telling the search is too heavy. What kind of queries cause these problems? Are they queries that find a lot of posts?

    How big is your site, how many posts? Are you using the throttle to limit the searches?
