This prompt keeps popping up even though I’ve updated the plugins. Why?… and what can I do to remove it so it doesn’t keep popping up on the top of my pages?

“The SEO Framework – Extension Manager” plugin can no longer be updated and the API no longer works. This is a security risk. Get the new plugin here.

    Thanks all.

    Hello!

The prompt is there because we closed the plugin at www.remarpro.com four months ago, and we weren’t allowed to redirect the update service to ours.

This means that you won’t be able to update the plugin, and that’s never a good idea. As such, the urgent notification is prompted, indefinitely.

As the notification proposes, you can get the latest version, for free, from our site. Upgrade instructions are provided there, too.

Now, as for the reason why… you can read all about it in my extensive contemplation on WordPress’ deprecating ecosystem.

Thanks Sybre. I’m a paid subscriber and if there’s a way to edit the code and just remove the prompt. Do I need to reinstall the plugin to do this? I don’t want to lose anything I have already done on my sites. Thank You.

I like your extension the best so far and hope to keep using it into the future.

    Hello again ??

The installation instructions are provided on the new page. I quote:

N.B. if you’ve installed the Extension Manager 1.5.4 or lower, you’ll need to delete that plugin first.
No settings are lost in this process.

When you upgrade, the notice will go away :).

As you’re a bit late to the party, you may have to reconnect your key and reactivate the extensions you’d like to use. Again, no settings are lost, but Monitor might fail to recognize your website’s application key (which is fine).

I’d like to ask you to continue your inquiries for the Extension Manager on the applicable support platforms (i.e. GitHub or private email); these forums aren’t for that plugin, and I’m not entirely sure to which extent I may provide support here.

N.B. the Monitor service is down at the moment, reason TBD/TBA. So my apologies for being this abrupt. Fire, fire, fire! ??

Thanks again Sybre for your quick reply and I’ll get that new extension manager installed. I simply installed the new extensions. oops.
