When I enter an html element in the search, I see a problem with the search in categories. For example, I want to find records that contain url, so I enter the following query in the search:
    href=

    • /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=product – search works and finds entries where there is href=
    • /wp-admin/edit-tags.php?taxonomy=product_cat&post_type=product – this search does not find entries where href=

A similar problem with categories in WordPress (Posts > Categories)

    Hi @tunyk,

    Thank you for reaching out.

I understand you’re trying to search for items using an HTML element.

For clarification, WooCommerce search functionality doesn’t support direct HTML element searching. It primarily focuses on content, title, and excerpt. If you’re trying to search for specific HTML elements like ‘href=’, it might not yield the desired results.

For a more advanced search functionality, you might want to consider using a search plugin that offers more comprehensive search capabilities. There are several available in the WordPress plugin repository that can search through HTML content, custom fields, and more.

    I hope this helps!
