The script tag contains invalid JSON that cannot be parsed.

This is extremely helpful. For the first time I’ve been able to replicate the issue that others have been reporting. I’m raising this with someone who can determine what is going on.

Same issue here, just started topday. I see a number of recent posts about this so I won’t start my own.

The underlying issue appears to be a bug with the AMP validator, so this workaround plugin should not be needed for long.

I’ve installed the workaround plugin on one of my affected sites, but Google Search Console will not validate the fix. ;-(

I have installed the plugin and now I have received “ok” from search console to “convalidate” the fix.

The AMP plugin did not cause this issue. It just so happened that an update to the AMP plugin was released the same time as an update to the AMP validator which caused the issue, apparently.

Also: do note that the issue is a warning not an error.

The fix is now live. I’m not able to reproduce the issue anymore. Feel free to re-add line breaks to your JSON. My workaround plugin can now be uninstalled.
