Hi There – I have many images that need updating, they are using the old interim url instead of the new one, the run comes up with no changes however? Even though I left the Dry run unselected.

During the search/replace, 149 tables were searched, with 0 cells changed in 0 updates.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

Better Search Replace Support Team here, Thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist.

When the ‘Dry Run’ is enabled, does it show any matches found?

As a test, could you please try to search for simpler words (words that you are sure exists in your pages),
and see if the Better Search Replace plugin still does not return any matches.

Kindly let us know how it goes,
    Thank you.

    Thanks for your reply.

Ok I did a test dry run with a simpler word and this is the result:

    https://prnt.sc/1wQ1WFZxsAGt

And this is the dry run result for the URL I am trying to change:

    https://prnt.sc/xUOgtqs9gvwX

But as you can see the broken image links have this interim URL in them, when it should be the main domain.

For instance the broken image link:

    https://6fd8e1fad5338e5ca525.b-cdn.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/kitchen-designer-vx-5-2.png

    Correct image link: https://homeworld.uk.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/kitchen-designer-vx-5-2.png

    Hi Christine,

Thanks for the additional information. Are you using a builder plugin? Some builders save their URLs in the database differently, so you may have to do some formatting changes to find them.

One thing you can try is removing the https:// part of the search and replace parameters to see if that will return results.

Some builders escape slashes with a backslash, so you can try searching for URLs like http:\/\/www.google.com. Please also escape backslashes on the Replace parameter.

As always, please always have a database backup before running a search/replace on your site.

Let us know how it goes for you.
