  • Hi I though I would share this fix that works for me. I was getting the Error ‘The response is not a valid JSON response.’ when I tried to publish in a new wordpress installation. The remedy was to change the permalink setting from custom to plain. Hope his saves someone the time I spent finding a fix. Best

  • That’s not really a fix. You should be able to use whatever permalink type you prefer.
    You could have a plugin conflict causing that error.
    If you use plain permalinks, people that linked to your pages before you switched permalinks won’t be able to find the correct page.
