    Hi,

I use your free service and installed the Mailerlight plugin. I tried to embed a sign up form in custom HTML on my widget (in the side bar), and got a Jason error.

Whenever I try to publish the form I get the following notice in the bottom left corner, with black background: “There was an error. The response is not a valid JSON response.”

I then tried to check the issue while in debug mode and got this error as I opened the widget block editor: “wp-editor” script should not be enqueued together with the new widgets editor (wp-edit-widgets or wp-customize-widgets).”

I also tried deactivating all my blog plugins and changing the theme to the default one (the 2023 theme), remaining the same Jason errors while updating my Mailerlight form HTML code.

Now, I contacted to Mailerlite support several months ago by email. They checked the code for me and said it functiones properly on their testing site.

However, the problem persists and it’s annoying. I can publish the form only by using the classic widgets interface of wordpress.

Please help me solve the issue.

My blog server is Bluehost which their support couldn’t replicate the issue on their side, so they didn’t help me either. I use the latest WordPress version,6.2.2, and latest Astra theme.

    Important update @mailerlite :

When I went to the Chrome console to get the full response, I got a 403 error on Cloudflare ( I have the basic cloudflare CDN integration with Bluehost) blocking me from updating the action, and that I guess false positive by their CDN firewall.

So, it’s your code that triggering my Cloudflare security protocol for some reason. However, it also occurs with few other codes for example while embeding a Mostadon post.

Bluehost has told me that if I want to fix that I need to delete my Cloudflare CDN, but I don’t want to let go my CDN.. Otherwise I might leave Bluehost when my Packedge ends.

Anyways, if you have ideas on how to generate form codes in your site so that it won’t trigger my CDN – great, if not, I would need to change my hosting company.

    Hi @shapress

Thanks for sharing all the details with us.

We checked the ticket you opened on oct/22 and based on the screenshot example you shared we noticed one thing that we would like to suggest, it is for you don’t embed the universal script inside the page or through the page editor, but instead add it through a plugin that can add scripts in the header.

Now, if you’ve already changed this and the issue is still happening, we suggest contacting Bluhost again, because maybe it could be related to javascript detection, but unfortunately, we can’t confirm that. During our investigation, we found no inconsistencies on our side. We also looked into this earlier this year because another customer who also works with Bluehost as a blog server has already reported a similar thing, but we didn’t find any issues.

    Thank you,

    Thanks @mailerlite

I wasn’t aware of using an existing form with the plugin shortcode. That works, thanks
