I downloaded a fresh copy of wordpress last night to an add on domain in public_html/newsite.

At first I was getting a redirect loop in Firefox 3. I cleared all of my cookies and private data, but that didn’t solve that problem. I’ve been reading through the forum trying to see if anyone else is having the same problem.

To make a long story short, I deleted all of the wordpress files, and did an manual upload following the instructions here: https://educhalk.org/blog/?p=1.

Now I get the error as shown in the title. I’ve checked my wp-admin and the install.php file is there, and it appears all of the other files that need to be there are.

Can someone please help me ASAP? This site is for a customer that I pretty much had to talk into using wordpress and I don’t want to let her down, nor do I want to give a bad report about wordpress. I really do like using it.

    Thank you!

Oh my goodness! I realized I needed to type https://mysite.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php to access the installation page. Seems to be working now.

    1. Login to phpMyAdmin.
    2. Select the database and click on ‘Structure’ tab.
    3. Right under the list of table there is a “Check All” link. Click on it to select all tables.
    4. From a “With selected:” drop-down menu right next to it, choose “Check table”.

    To Repair:

    1. Login to phpMyAdmin
    2. Choose the affected database. If you only have one database, it should choose it by default so you don’t need to do anything.
    3. In the main panel, you should see a list of your database tables. Check the boxes by the tables that need repair.
    4. At the bottom of the window just below the list of tables, there is a drop down menu. Choose “Repair Table”
