    Hi

I am using your wonderful plugin for the first time, following some tutorial by someone on Youtube after having issues with others. Everything seemed to work well, the site correctly displayed at the new url, until I tried to log in.
I keep getting “The requested URL was not found on this server.” when I try to log in + all other site links. This site, originally at a subdomain & beginning with https is currently at a location WITHOUT one with the new location url just http. When I try logging in, it jumps to a url beginning with https. In the DB Options table, it does not matter whether the 2 urls there have http or https, not making a difference.
The main domain at new location has a url beginning with https. Could that be part of the problem?

What can I do? I just want to access the admin area at this temporary location, make a few tests, get everything working, including all other links before untlimately transferring it as a sub domain to another url under the same hosting account.

    Thank you in advance

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello @xprt007

WPvivid Backup Plugin automatically replaces urls in a migration process, which includes http and https.

In your case, it is recommended that you restore the backup to a fresh WordPress site and see if that resolves the issue.

If the issue persists, we’d be happy to troubleshoot further if you could send us a debug zip of the destination site to support(at)wpvivid, com with a link to this thread. You can find it in the Debug tab of the plugin.

    Thank you for the response.
I will do what you suggest shortly and get back, though I need to say I used a fresh installation of WordPress as that was part of the instructions I followed in the online tutorial on Youtube with title “How To Transfer Your Website ( Emails and Domain) To Another Webhosting Provider”.

    Hi

So I have just re-done the transfer.
#1. I started with a new WordPress installation, installed the backup plugin, uploaded the backup from old location and triggered the restoration.
#2. I went to log in BUT noted the captcha by captcha-bws was stuck at “captcha is loading”, which I thought might cause problems and decided to go to the plugins folder & renamed it like last time. THIS time I also renamed the google captcha, just in case.
#3. When I try logging in I get the same page not found error AND that it tries to go to the url with https, instead of http, which is probably why it does not find the pages.
#4. This made me check out the DB Options table, where the links at siteurl & home correspond to the provisional url. Could it be the https is being somehow imposed by primary domain, which is https, this being a subdomain? Is there a way to force it to stay with http or what is the right thing to do?

How can I access this if I cannot log in once the restoration is complete?

    Thank you in advance

    Update, may be helpful:
Another, separate site backup copy, actual location, a domain, being moved to a subdomain http … anothersite.site(. de) of this same domain also hits the same roadblock on trying to log in to the restored copy, by not finding https … anothersite.site(. de). This shared host runs on Plesk.

Also in this case, the layout is for some reason broken …
This is a bit confusing. I tried logging in again, ON THE SEPARATE site and I went in, still at http … BUT with the layout broken. I then tried to go to the Dashboard and get stuck here with the => /wp-admin/ not found and the url “https”.

I hope all this helps to give clues.
The original 2 sites at their original locations work with no errors, with first site “aspectus…..” actually a subdomain of the second one (full domain), though I am temporarily setting them up at this new host as 2 subdomains.

    Update 2:

    Quite confusing …
With second site (subdomain “sabai” instead of asp…) above, I tried to log in again and this worked but completely broken layout. AFTER re-directing to “https … /wp-admin/” not being found and just tried replacing it with “http … /wp-admin/“. Got surprisingly to the dashboard, which had some errors related to the DB Backup plugin.
In the meantime, trying to see what can be done with second site whose layout of the frontend is still broken as clicking any links leads to “https …”, although DP Options has “http” (any help?) & will post any updates BUT with the first site mentioned above, I cannot go any further as I am stuck at log in, as what worked with second site wont work with it. I cannot log in at all.

    Hello @xprt007

    Thanks for the updates.

You can download the debug zip before the restoration. Please also send us a copy of the restore log which you can find in /wp-content/wpvividbackups/wpvivid_log after the restoration.
