• Hi Guys,

Noob here, I’m creating my first themed WordPress site and am having trouble with Pages throwing the above error.

I’ve set up a local install of WP 2.7, Apache running on Windows XP. All is working fine apart from when I create pages. I have created my page structure OK, but whenever I click one of the Page links, the page does not load and throws a 404 error and says:

“The requested URL /*page name here*/ was not found on this server.”

    Any thoughts?

I’m having the same issue. I’ve also got a wordpress install using wamp on a windows xp pro machine.

When I set the permalink structure to default, everything works fine. It’s only when I try to customize the permalink that I have trouble. I checked my .htaccess file and it is being rewritten to. I also uncommented the line, “LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so” in my httpd.conf file… no luck.

If someone can offer some assistance it will surely be appreciated.

Well… I think I’ve figured it out. After making the change to my httpd.conf file (see my previous post), I forgot to restart WAMP. :p

After restarting, everything is working fine now.

I was just having this problem and i’ve come across an easier solution:

left click on the wamp tray icon
    apache>
    apache modules>
    check the ‘rewrite module’

    bingo!
