“The request to the authentication proxy has failed with an error: a site with the given URL already exists Get help.”

The help article is useless. Site Kit has been operating successfully on this site for well over a year. Just started happening last round of updates a little over a month ago. Latest update did not resolve.

No way to Reset; this prompt comes on Site Kit dashboard load.

Uninstalled, reinstalled. Uninstalled, deleted, reinstalled. No joy.

    Thanks for your help!

Hi?@delaner thanks for opening a support topic and explaining the issue. Does the same occur if you temporarily modify your site title via?Settings > General > Site Title?and then try once more? You can add a single extra character to your site title, and revert back after attempting Site Kit setup.

Could I also check if you have recently changed your domain or admin path for your website? If yes, could I also ask you to try switching back to the previous structure and perform a?Site Kit reset? You can still reset by going to Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit. Once reset, switch back to the new structure and set up Site Kit.

Let me know how you get on with the above.

    Adam,

THANK YOU! Great idea. Unfortunately, it didn’t work. I changed the site title, attempted set up, same error. I changed it back, attempted set up, same error.

I have not recently changed my domain or admin path.

However, I did not know about Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit. That worked! Thanks for your help. These suggestions should definitely be added to the help page I tried to use before.
