    Google ad clicks stats(Today)

    https://i.imgur.com/8ZPCAg8.png

Hello, thank you for developing a great plugin. I have noticed an increasing discrepancy in statistics since the recent update.

First, the Google Ads click count in the screenshot is 361 + 88 = 449. This is quite similar to the visits in the plugin statistics, so that’s fine. However, according to Google Ads, even if one person clicks multiple times, each click is recorded, and while there is a filtering system, considering this, the number of visitors should also approximately be at least 300 to 400. Overall, the gap between the visitors and visits in the plugin seems to have widened.

Previously, I used the client-side (recommended) setting, but due to this large gap, I switched to the server-side and turned off the Matomo option. Additionally, I excluded login 404 pages and administrators/editors.

Ultimately, what I want to know is, what settings should I use to have the same click counts in the statistics as in Google Ads? Our advertising clients are puzzled and keep asking about this.

Also, what happens to the Google Ads statistics when the ad blocker option is enabled in client-side settings?

    Thank you for your response.

    Hi @wpnoobzz

Thank you for opening this thread.

Please let us know the time frame for the Google Ads statistics. It is important that the data being compared is in the same time zone and time period.

In the plugin, “Visitors” refers to users who have entered your site, while “Views” indicates the number of pages viewed by those users. For example, one Visitor may only view one page, while another Visitor may view several pages on your site. Therefore, the gap between Visitors and Views in the plugin is natural.

Additionally, we do not record visits made by bots, etc. You can enable the Log Record Exclusions option in Settings – Filtering & Exceptions to see the daily statistics of excluded visits in the Exclusions menu.

We do not have any connection with Google Ads statistics. However, by enabling Bypass Ad Blockers in the settings, we can record the visit statistics of users who use ad-blocking extensions like uBlock or DNS services that block ads and trackers.

I hope this can be helpful to you. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please let me know, and I will be happy to help.

    Regards,
