I have been receiving this error – The registration secrets sent by your site do not match the ones the Jetpack server has on record.

When trying to reconnect my Jetpack to my wordpress.com account.

I double checked with my hosting company and they confirm that there is nothing stopping Jetpack from connecting on their side.

I have emailed but no one has got back in touch.

    Can someone please help me.

  • Same here, tried installing 4 new sites and same issue

Hi folks, can you check to see whether you’ve got any blocking plugins installed? When did this start?

Also @wtf-seo — what’s the site you’re trying to connect?

It started yesterday. I had the error “This site cannot be accessed” so disconnected and then couldn’t reconnect.

Have had my hosting company look at everything including the plugins and they can’t find any issue.

I have managed to reconnect but I can’t sync www.remarpro.com and wordpress.com so nothing is showing.

OK. Jetpack wasn’t updated that recently so it shouldn’t be that. Did you have any new updates or plugin installations just before this started? Or, did the host update any security settings around then?

Nope, I have even tried wiping Jetpack completely and reinstalling it without any plugins and it still won’t connect.

I can try again, but I know my host did the same thing as well.

I have wiped it and started again and now it won’t let me connect at all.

@wtf-seo I don’t think we’ve heard back from you but we’re suspecting a security update with your host, so please check in with them as well.

I’ve just installed a new site with 20i hosting and I’m encountering the exact same issue. There are no plugins installed yet apart from Jetpack, but it comes up with that registration secrets message when trying to get to the screen that would NORMALLY allow me to connect to JetPack. I’ve run a permissions check on the files but this did not help.

It’s a brand new, one-click install hosted WordPress site – I thought it might be down to propagation issues with DNS as the nameservers were only changed a couple of days ago, but it’s still doing it today.

Never seen this message ever before on any of my WP sites, and I have quite a lot of them!

PS – there is an EDGE caching CDN network running with this host, but changing settings to those elements appear to be a factor – if I switch those into development mode (disables all caching) I can get to the CONNECT screen, then it switches to the WP site.

I can then click APPROVE but, although it tries authorizing, it errors out, refreshes, and lets me try again. So far, I’m stuck in that loop, but I’ll give it an hour or 2 just in case there is any leftover cache to expire.

Scratch the reply I made above as a possible red herring ?? The original error message is back and I can no longer get to the CONNECT screen.

It would be helpful to know what ‘registration secrets’ Jetpack is looking for and we might be able to make a bit more progress on this. Incidentally, I’m using Chrome.

I have managed to get my Jetpack connected but it’s now not pulling my post through to the Reader.

Can someone please look at this?

I tried again this morning to get jetpack to connect and it was back to how it should be. I honestly have no idea why I had these problems. The CDN had been re-enabled. The only possible cause I can think of is possibly slow recognition of DNS changes (nameservers).

I am still having the issue where Jetpack doesn’t seem to be bringing through my posts from my website.

Is there any one looking at this?

@jordann12 since that is a different issue and there are multiple people on this thread, would you start a new thread for the new issue?

@zincweb are you all set? Honestly I’m not sure why it wasn’t just recognizing them before. Usually it is an issue with a plugin blocking us, so perhaps slow DNS propagation caused a similar issue.

Sorry, I got tied up on another project.

I think it was a hosting issue as all using the same hosting but via different resellers.

    Anyhow, sorted now my end.
