• I installed the Cerber plugin mostly to try it against comment spammers. I tried to activate it for comment form, but it did not appear there. So I thought, well, I’ll try if it will be activated for log in form. Mistake. Whatever I do to prove myself human, the reCaptcha still says that human verification failed.

In hopes of being able to log in as admin after that, I tried to deactivate Cerber by replacing the wp-cerber.php with the one in WP Cerber Reset, but that only resulted in both my blog and login page showing error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function deactivate_plugins() in /home/np42129/domains/liriel.org/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-cerber/wp-cerber.php on line 37

What should I do next to get it fixed?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi!

You need to completely delete the plugin folder wp-cerber and login as usual. Then install the plugin again and check the Activity tab for reCAPTCHA related events like some errors. It gives you a clue what was wrong.

Note: If you want to test out reCAPTCHA and avoid getting locked out, you need to do that in a different browser or in an incognito window.

    Hi!

Yes, I was able to log in when I removed the folder. When I reinstalled Cerber, I found that I had by mistake copied more text than the Secret Key into the reCAPTCHA setup (” Step 1: Client side”). Silly mistake.

Now I was able to verify that I am human on the login form (tried in Incognito window, stupid me for not doing so earlier).

However, the comment form still doesn’t have reCAPTCHA there, and even legitimate comments (that I wrote myself) are moved to spam. Please advise about that.

    Hi!

I believe that your active theme is not completely compatible with the plugin. I advise to use the invisible version of reCAPTCHA.
