    Hi,

    Again, quite sorry.

I developed for my site main branches of themes, so that, when a user has selected one main theme I display lists of articles of the theme only.

For this I use the same template with various tax selections (category root), to produce same designed list with various post contents.

Note : for this I had several solutions, the global coherency (maintenance), features and ergonomic considerations leads me to choose the multi root categories and the plugin to manage groups of keywords.

You understand what happens, the templates are duplicated many times, then when I want to make any change I have to copy the template and generally to each list which the unique difference : the tax selection.

So this thread contains both :

    • a question How to do for now (I have copied into an editor my templates and used copy past… a pensum
    • a proposal of solution (which changes a lot the product, but may be not so heavy)

    My proposal :

    • Create (duplicate) a module to define only : “template” and “css”
    • to link a list to a template I would create a shortcode which can be used into templates definition [insertW4template name=”<the template_css>”] and [insertW4css name=”<the template_css>”]

An advantage should be to propose a ready to use catalog of templates (with their css)

Then to create a list is then

    • to define the type of elements,
    • the tax,
    • link to a template

    Best regards

    Trebly
