Happy New Year! Thank you very much for your hard work.

Since Dec 31, 2023 I was sick and when I logged in yesterday Jan 3, 2024, this plugin did not appear and it gave me this error:

I installed it again, and when I came in today it was not installed again and it gave me the same error.

I have no more registered users
I checked with Sucuri and my site is clean

I don’t know what’s going on, could you help me with this?

    Thank you,

    Dalia

Hi @daliasued, glad you reached out, and we appreciate your kind words!

I understand the Solid Security plugin keeps being deleted from your site, and you keep seeing the plugin file missing error. It’s possible that your plugin copy is corrupted/missing some files or something went wrong during an update and wasn’t completed correctly. Here are some troubleshooting steps we can do to check what’s causing the issue:
    1. First, verify that the better-wp-security.php file exists by accessing your site files through FTP/File Manager. Go to your wp-content/plugins/better-wp-security directory and check for the file.

    2. While checking for the file, at the same time, confirm that your directory and the plugin files have the correct permissions (folders: 755, files: 644).

    3. Re-install Solid Security manually by downloading the latest plugin zip?here?and following this?article’s?“Installing Downloaded Plugins Through (s)FTP” section. After uploading, activate the plugin from your WordPress Admin.

    4. Observe if you’re still encountering the issue. If so, proceed with a conflict check test using this guide: Checking for a Conflict. Confirm if the issue persists when only Solid Security is active on your site and while you’re using a default WP theme. If you’re using other security plugins, temporarily disable them to avoid conflicts.

    5. Make sure your server is running the compatible PHP version (7.3 or higher) and your site is at WP 6.3 or higher. It’s also a good idea to check that your server has sufficient space left in case an incomplete update due to lack of space causes the issue.

    6. If the issue still persists, enable WP Debugging using this guide and check for related error messages. Check your server’s error logs, too, for any clue that could help point out the cause of the issue.

Hope this helps, and let us know how it goes with the troubleshooting steps.

Good morning @shanedelierrr, thank you for your response, but the file NO LONGER EXISTS, my site is in Spanish, it was my mistake not to translate the image from the beginning, but the file is completely deleted from my server.

I’m going to translate what the error says:

The better-wp-security/better-wp-securiy.php plugin has been disabled due to a bug. Plugin file does not exist

Hi @daliasued, thank you for confirming the file’s existence.

Since the file cannot be found, please proceed with a complete manual installation (step 3) and see if the helps.

If the issue persists, please follow the remaining troubleshooting steps above (steps 4-6): conflict check, compatibility check, server storage check, enabling WP debugging to check for errors, and checking the server error logs.

Looking forward to hearing from you!
