    Hi,

I have tried multiple times these last 24 hours. The plugin says it made the modifications asked for, but they are not implemented. No error message. I did a reinstall. Same issue.

    Thanks for your help,

    Philippe

I also get: “DRY RUN:?1?tables were searched,?0?cells were found that need to be updated, and?0?changes were made.”

I searched in wp_posts, where dozen of posts are concerned by the update…

    Hi there!

Better Search Replace Support Team here, Thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist

It’s possible that it’s a cache issue. If you have any caching plugins installed, kindly try clearing any cache on your site and see if that resolves the issue.

If you are using a theme builder, perhaps the data is saved in a different table. Please try including all tables in your search/replace process. You can start with a dry run, to see if the text is picked up in a different table.

If the issue persists, could you please send us the exact search and replace term you’re using for further investigation. If those are links/URLs, we would recommend checking how those are stored exactly in database. Sometimes plugins or themes can store URLs differently than WordPress core does, which can result in Better Search Replace missing those URLs.

You could use a tool like phpMyAdmin to take a look at the URLs in MySQL and see what the proper search term should be.

    Hi,

The modification eventually took place after about 24 hours. I’ll leave it at that since the plugin has worked flawlessly aside from that recent issue. Thank you very much for your indications.

    Hi,

Same issue again. The plugin says the change has been made, but nothing appears on the website. I emptied the CDN and website cache. I hope that the change will eventually appear after 48 hours or so, like last time. Still, the delay seems to be caused on the plugin’s side.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi Philippe,

Better Search Replace runs the search/replace process instantly. All changes in the database should be done during the process.

Please ensure that Dry Run is disabled. If this setting is checked, no changes are actually done on the database.

Also, if you are using a load balancer for your database, then it’s possible that only one instance of your database is getting updated. The other instances gets updated only after the database is propagated to your other instances. This usually happens within 24 hours.

You may have to contact your hosting provider for help if you are not sure if you are using a load-balanced database.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi, BSR still does not work. Whichever substitutions I want to make on my website, the plugin says it made the changes, but none appear. Is it possible for you to test directly in my website dashboard to see what the issue might be?

    Hi Philippe,

Apologies but it is against the forum rules to provide access to your site.

If you need us to dig deeper, we recommend purchasing a license from bettersearchreplace.com. A license includes one year of email support.

I would also recommend contacting your hosting provider to help you confirm if you are using a load balancer for your database. They should also be able to help you check your database if changes are indeed not getting applied there.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

    Hi,

My hosting provider does not use a load balancer. I am going to check with them if any of the changes I recently tried with BSR are applied in the database.

Well, I just noticed that the changes I wanted were eventually made on the website. It took at least 48 hours.

    Hi Philippe,

I would recommend contacting your hosting provider to see if they have some caching software or plugins installed on your site. Or maybe your site is using “clusters”, where changes done on the main site/cluster aren’t propagated to the other clusters until after a few hours. Your hosting provider can help with confirming this as well.

Better Search Replace changes are done instantly on the database (if the Dry Run option is disabled). You can confirm this by checking your database directly using something like phpMyAdmin in your CPanel.

Let us know if you have any other questions.
