The plugin has completely deconfigured my website. If I deactivate it, the website works fine. But if I activate it, the appearance of the page is completely unconfigured. Is it possible to check it?

  • Hi @eduardolorden,
Glad you reached out. It sounds like you might be seeing a fatal error or critical error when you install and activate GiveWP. Do I have that right?

Typically, this error means some broken code is causing your site to crash. PHP errors like critical or fatal errors are recorded in your server logs. If you don’t know where to find the PHP error logs you can contact your hosting provider and they will be able to point you in the right direction to find them, or they can send them right along to you.

The details in these error codes give us helpful context to understand the issue you are running into, so they will be the first step in getting to the bottom of things.

Let me know if you have any questions about this in the meantime, I’m happy to help.

    Hi @stephanieliy,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Excuse me, because my message implies that there is a “fatal error” when installing the plugin, when it is not exactly like that.

The problem in this case is when adding the “donation form” block on a page.

It looks bad, the page gets out of configuration.

The message that appears in the editor (Gutenberg) is “Error loading block: you are probably offline.”

If it’s OK with you, I can record a short video for you to watch.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

    Hi @eduardolorden,
Thanks for that clarification, it helps!

I suspect you might be experiencing a conflict, but I’d need to do a bit of digging to be sure.

First, send along your system information. You can do this by navigating to Donations > Tools > System Info (tab) and clicking the button to “Get System Report” and copy/paste that into your reply here.

If you have a URL for that page, I’d love to take a look from the front end as well.

I’ll set up a sandbox and use your information to try to replicate what you are seeing.

A screencast or video of what you are seeing would be fantastic. You can send that along right here and I’ll give it a look.

If you have any questions in the meantime, I’m here to help.

First of all, thank you very much for your help. It is a pleasure to deal with people as resolute and professional as you.

I leave you a link to the folder where I have left the “system report” and a video where you can see the error:

If you want to access the web, I can give you access without problem.

    Dear @stephanieliy,

Have you been able to find out the reason why the plugin is not working?

I am waiting for your answer.

    Hi, @eduardolorden.

    Jumping on here for Stephanie.

I tried to watch the video you sent but it did not work for me. But here is what I’d do if I was in your shoes.

The first thing we need to check here is if there is some kind of incompatiblity going on.

In this case, I suggest you follow our troubleshooting tutorials using Health Check. It allows you to isolate plugins and change themes for administrator, while the frontend still runs the live version of the website. You can see the documentation here:https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/troubleshoot-wordpress-websites-health-check/https://givewp.com/documentation/resources/how-to-troubleshoot-your-website-like-a-wordpress-support-engineer/

Can you test it and let us know how it goes?

    Hi, @eduardolorden.

It’s been a while since we’ve heard back, and I know troubleshooting needs a little extra time. I’m marking this as resolved for now, but if you still have questions, you can send them along right here, and I’ll be happy to hop back in.

    Have a great day!
