The plugin doesn’t support sub_categories

I have installed the plugin but when i added the cat link to the post link like this /%custom_cats%/%postname%/ i got an error the problem is:
when I click on any post link I get this mywebsite.com/parent-category/sub-category/custom-post/ and a “not-found” error.
but when i delete the /parent-category i can see the post as well but didn’t found how to fix links so please;
if someone can help i will appreciate that thanks a lot!
