Hello! Updated the PHP file up to version 7.3 and after that the plugin stopped working. Google Analytics shows visitors on the site. But the Slimstat plugin is not. What could be the reason?

My sites run und PHP 7.3 as well without any problem.
Please disable MaxMind in the settings and try again.

Hello! Thanks earned. But does not show the country. How to load geolocation manually? This link does not open in the instructions.

you must register on the maxmind download page, then you reset the password, login, generate a license key and download the archive manually.

    https://dev.maxmind.com/geoip/geoip2/geolite2/

After you downloaded the file, unpack the file (it is a tar.gz file, but may be named mmdb). Extract the Geolite2-City.mmdb file, rename to maxmind.mmdb and upload into the plugins upload folder on your server.

There is a new pull request pending which ads the license key and unpacking feature in the slimstat github.com repo. Hopefully it will be merged, soon.

    For the impatient:

You can download the files mentioned in the PR and overwrite them on your server, so Slimstat is able to download the database again.

But be warned: your plugin version will stay at 4.8.8.1, so when the maintainer releases a new version without the pr feature merged in, you must apply the updated files again.

Do not forget to enter your license key on the Maintenance plugin settings page, disable MaxMind and Re-enable it to get it downloaded immediately. When it states successfully downloaded, you are good to go.

I did everything as you said. It still doesn’t show geolocation.

I did the same and nothing worked.

    believe me, it works.
One note: when you upload the maxmind.mmdb file, do not change any settings in the plugin, otherwise the file is deleted.

Open the file you think is the mmdb file in a text editor prior the upload. If it states ustar around the beginning, you are NOT uploading the mmdb, but a tar.gz archive, which contains the mmdb file! Unpack the mmdb file first from the archive, rename and then upload.

To install the proposed MaxMind license key support manually for now as a workaround, see https://github.com/slimstat/wp-slimstat/pull/5#issuecomment-583119369
