The plugin does not have a valid header

    logged on to dashboard and received this message.
    (The plugin does not have a valid header)
    all of my plugins have disappeared.
    however when trying to reinstall i get a message saying
    (Destination folder already exists)

    brand new to wordpress, any help would be greatly appreciated.
