the plugin does not allow as many characters as Twitter

If you add in a twitter username in the settings, and then choose to include that user name in the tweet, it will subtract that amount of characters from the text. Additionally, if you include a URL to go back to the site, it will include that in the tweet, and subrtract from the total characters in the tweet.

I just tested, and this functionality is working as expected.

If you want the full 280 characters, be sure to select to NOT send the username in the tweet, and NOT send the URL in the tweet. You can do that within the block settings, if you’re using the block editor, or via shortcode attributes if you are using the classic editor. This article was created a long time ago, and the plugin was not clipping the tweet… A few days ago I noticed that this and other long tweets have been clipped by the plugin.
