The Permalink won't connect to single.php

Hi!

If i link a post title to a my single.php file with a <?php the_permalink(); ?> link, it won’t connect! It just uses my index.php or sent me to the 404.php page. It works on all my other wordpress themes, so i don’t know where the problem is.
