• This is an excellent two-factor authentication solution for WordPress, and nothing could ever beat free. I use it on my own sites. Thank you Clef!

However, you’ll have to know of 2 caveats (free comes at the price):

    1. There’s no session control. You can log into all of your Clef-controlled sites (including Facebook, through Chrome extension), but only from one browser. In their own words, “Clef’s SSO works on one browser session at a time. Syncing sessions across multiple computers and possibly even multiple browsers is on the development roadmap but likely still a ways off until production.”
    2. WordPress version, when installed as a total login replacement, doesn’t really replace login form. Oh, it does, but only for us humans. Malicious scripts will continue kicking on your real login form trying to guess your username (admin, of course) and password (watzit, sex? god? 123?))… So by all means, use Clef – but also install a good security system.

PS: Their login window are quite ugly when laid over WP 4.1.*’s default login form, so you’ll need some additional styling ??

Thanks for the review! A couple thoughts:

    * With regards to (2), we actually do block all password based logins. If you’re still seeing alerts or warnings, it’s likely because the plugin that generates those alerts or warnings is blocking the attempt *before* it gets to Clef – not much we can do about that! You can read more about that distinction here.
    * In terms of the style of the login window, how can we improve it? Are you seeing this? We think it looks pretty great, but we know things can always improve ??

Thanks again for the kind words!

Jesse, thanks for the prompt reply. Got it on #2.

In regards to the login window styling, I’d love to see some customization options, like completely disabling everything but Clef. For example, my 11″ Macbook Air doesn’t have much of a screen real estate, and to get to Clef I have to actually scroll down, as WP logo totally dominates my login form. I know I can do it with CSS, but there’s no built in way to do it with Clef.

PS: I like your personal blog ??

Mmm, that makes sense to me. I’ll add that as a note on our product board!

Thanks for the kind words ??
