    Hi !

I’m having troubles with your plugin, I was searching how to reverse the optimization in order to not have to upload all my images again because my images looks bad after the optimization.

I found this topic in wich you tell the image should’nt be altered.

So here is my original image : Editions.jpg (3444×1800) (mahii.pro) and there is the optimized version of it Editions-2048×1070.jpg (2048×1070) (mahii.pro)

As you can see around the text of the 3rd cover, this part isn’t as clear as in the original.

So do you have an option to redo the optimization with no loss of the image quality or a way to reverse it (because, as you can see, I can found the original version in media upload) ?

    Thank you for your help.

    Hello,

There is a backup option available: https://docs.ewww.io/article/58-restoring-original-images

However, I’m assuming that wasn’t activated when you optimized your images. Given that that is a scaled image, you could try re-optimizing it as it would use the original (there is a “re-optimize” button in the right-hand column). I did download your original and uploaded it to one of our test servers using the basic free optimization. It didn’t generate that artifacting around the words: https://ibb.co/prs8X7R

Before re-optimizing though, you could also try increasing the JPG quality setting in the Advanced tab of the plugin settings. I was using default but increasing it may produce a better image. Is it possible that that image was optimized more than once (having multiple optimizers run that image)?

    HI

Thank, I have re-optimized the images with jpg quality to 100 and the image is still blurry.

I don’t see any option to restaure original images.

I check but it’s the only image optimizer plugin on my wordpress :

Are you clearing your cache afterwards? For reference, your cache may be holding onto the old version of the image, especially if you aren’t seeing any change in the quality and if you are using something like Cloudflare.

Alternatively, you could try uploading the image again and seeing what that version looks like.

Oh! One other thing, are you limiting the size of the image with the dimensions in “Resize Image” settings? Try disabling that if so and let’s see if we can get a good image first.

Hello, I am having a similar problem. I have woocommerce installed on my wordpress, and only images in the product pages look blurry. I have tried the reoptimize option, and cleared the site cache but that didn’t help.

I have disabled all other image optimizer when I installed EWWW.

This is a screenshot of my front page. The first row of images is sharp but the ones under “New Arrivals” are pulled from product images which are less ideal – blurry. My website is lismakes.com

Here are the photos of the product page: (it’s scaled to 600×600)

    Product page: https://lismakes.com/product/embroidered-hair-clips-floral-series/

This image is when it’s zoomed in to original size.

Can you please help to see what I can do to improve the images?

    Thanks!
