The New Supreme Ruler of Table Plugins
-
As a developer who relies heavily on tables for product placement, a good table plugin is a must. Ninja Tables has exceeded my expectations and is the new master of the table space on WordPress (with the best plugin support I have ever had).
Here is my use case (TablePress can’t handle it):
I have a table that I build multiple times a week. It currently has around 6,000 rows full of html and text, and later will have about 12,000+ rows. The table contains pricing data for thousands of products related to a particular niche that each need to be displayed as their own table on their respective pages.
Before Ninja Tables (TablePress): I ran a VBA program to break the large table into thousands of smaller tables that would be automatically imported into TablePress. Each small table is placed on a page, and automatically updated when I add the new version of it (with the same name) to a particular domain and extension.
I can only upload <1,000 tables because TablePress cannot handle any more.
I am limited in what I can write and, as important, when I need to delete old tables/articles since TablePress can only handle <1,000 tables (depending on your server setup and situation).
I have a large table that should be searchable, but is not…I do not put it on my site since TablePress does not have that feature (to my knowledge).
With Ninja Tables: I upload two tables: one with all the visible to users information, and one with all the visible to users information + a control column.
The table with all the visible information to users (but no control name) is searchable at a particular extension on my site and is searchable by users. I plan to add more columns to make that table more usable to those searching the broader pricing information related to the niche. Ninja Tables is very accommodating to that feature (I will need to exchange this table for another, but that will take a few seconds).
The table WITH the control names is used on individual pages using the filter feature (PRO only). Each encapsulated ‘table view’ is automatically updated each time I update the master version of the table. I can have, theoretically, unlimited ‘table views’ created from this master using controls.
All tables that I want to be searchable are searchable
I save several hours of compute time because I do not need to break up the master table into smaller tables.
I can write whatever I want without concern for hitting the limits of what the money making plugin can achieve.
Everything loads very quickly.
The tables look great (they also look pretty good with TablePress).
Conclusion: If you are looking for a full featured table plugin that allows for nearly infinity iterations of ‘views’ (and so much more) at a reasonable price, then look no farther than Ninja Tables.
It looks good.
It loads fast.
It allows for ‘views’ without bogging down the server.
It allows for a great deal of customization.Up until this point, I did not mention the support. It is exceptional. I spoke with the developer personally and he took control of my screen to show me how to fix the issues I was having. While I cannot guarantee that will happen for you, I can say that I received top-notch support when I was doubting what their plugin was capable of. To be fair, the developer of TablePress (Ninja Tables closes competitor) is very responsive as well, but the support I received for Ninja Tables went above and beyond.
I don’t write reviews often for whatever that is worth. This product is highly recommended.
