The New Search is Awful!

  • It can be hard enough trying to track down a bug or seek advice on a plug-in or coding problem, but the new WordPress search makes things even harder. At least in the past I could limit a search to support or the forums. Now everything is thrown into the mix — results from support, the forums, the plug-in repository, even Google ads and with no way to filter the results.

    Awful.

    I too believe the new seach is Awful. The lack of dates in results return is inhibiting. Esmi, where can I find out info on what is going on with the new search and how long before it is improved?

    The old search was a Yahoo app. Yahoo got rid of it, so to get SOMETHING up and running, it was Google.

    There’s no ETA on this, but no one really likes it :/

    I will await more details when they are forthcoming.
