    Hello team!
Some feedback and a couple of suggestions, if I may.
I am, personally, not sure who would really want to display some 150+ share icons on their site at once, but this is what seems to be the main direction of the pro version of the plugin… The only reason for that direction, could (theoretically) be some sort of an automation – to make that precious share to all (selected by the visitor) social networks – all at once, with a single click (…and that would be a feature suggestion number 1 – that is, check boxes from a single ! icon).

What blogminded website owners REALLY want is that visitors would JUST share wherever.. (isn’t it right?), while “where exactly” is of a secondary concern to them!
To this end, what totally surprised me, is the LACK of a simple, primary, naked (so to speak) “copy link” icon and the option to just copy the link. This option is just not there, …how is this even possible?
I am asking, do you really think that the general public is completely foreign to the concept of copy/pasting…?

So, the lack of a simplest “copy link” function (which is already “inside” of every other sharing option, btw), is a total show stopper for me personally.

Second feature suggestion, is to enable (from the admin panel – for the “nontechies”) to place share buttons within the content of social plugins. My personal need is to have share buttons in the activity feeds of BuddyPress. Yes, I know there is a “short code”, but this requires “theme hacking”, which is where things get complicated…

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @blogminded, thanks for your suggestions!

    • we’ve implemented as many platforms as possible in the premium plugin not because our users want to show them all but so that they can pick the ones which are relevant to them.
    • sharing to many social platforms with a single click would be a good idea but technically this is not possible. The sharing functionality is provided by the respective social platforms, not by our plugin and they usually aren’t interested in a unified solution being in constant competition between each other
    • there is a “copy link” icon in the premium USM plugin. We’ll think about releasing it in the free version as well
    • WordPress made it very easy to work with shortcodes. It can be simply pasted in any HTML/text widget/block. You don’t have to modify the theme files for that. We recommend checking this guide https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-a-shortcode-in-wordpress/ for additional info.

@alexsev Thank you for reply, very much appreciated!
Not to argue, whatsoever, but just to comment with my humble opinion on your bullet points:

    1. I still strongly feel that what the blog owners really want is for public to share site’s links everywhere possible. To them, where exactly the link is shared, in my opinion, is in fact completely irrelevant (…unless, for example, the entire blog is somehow fully dedicated to a particular social media type). “Relevance” can only come from the public’s perspective, not the blog owner’s. It is public who takes the link to relevant to them places, including, for example, creating just a bookmark in their browser (do you have a dedicated option for that, btw?). It is for this reason, the absolutely most straight forward sharing option, must be primarily “copy link”.

    2. “Sharing to many social platforms with a single click” is probably something potentially very interesting for the “premium USM plugin” (unlike the simplest imaginable “copy link” :)) and it shouldn’t be that “technically not possible”.
    Here is the “scenario:
“Would you like to share this post to multiple social notworks at once?” – > click “Share Multiple” -> “Check corresponding boxes” -> press “Submit” button -> then corresponding, multiple tabs will open, with corresponding share options shown, per each network’s posting specifications -> All that is left for user to do, is click on “post” button at each of the newly opened tabs.

    3. “Copy link” icon, is the absolute centerpiece of “everything share”. Perhaps, add Facebook and Twitter to the free version and put EVERYTHING else into “premium”. …I would actually pay for such a minimalistic and not over-bloated version (well, maybe the “short codes” function would be a plus here).

    4. I guess, editing files is potentially an option, but in my case, I believe that I have to edit template files, because I need the share icons to display outside of posts and pages – in users’ “activity feeds” (I am using “BuddyPress” plugin version). My beta site is at https://dinades.com/

    Thanks @blogminded !

We will release the “copy link” icon in the free plugin soon. Additionally, we have passed along your suggestion for an all-in-one share icon to our developers to evaluate if it is possible to implement.
